My latest creation is the Miniature Hearty Cube. So, this weeks IG Nanogami challenge is the heart. I immediately knew the design I would like to fold for this challenge – the Origami Hearty Cube from Meenakshi Mukerji. You can find my original post here. The diagram to this model was published in Meenakshi Mukerji’s book “Exquisite Modular Origami II”.

Tip: Papers I usually buy on Ebay or Origami Shop. Japanese books I tend to buy from CDJapan.

I chose to fold the smaller version of the Miniature Hearty cube, which is made from 6 identical units. The finished Origami micro cube measures less than 1 cm x 1 cm / 0.39 in x 0.39 in. The heart width x length is about 0.9 cm x 0.8 cm / 0.35 in x 0.31 in. The cube was not too difficult to fold, but quite tricky to put together.

I used regular Japanese Kami, like this one, for the Miniature Hearty Cube!

If you want to participate in the Origami IG Nanogami challenge, look for the theme of the week (write me a message) and post your work on Wednesday on IG with the hashtag #nanogami. Have fun folding your Miniature Hearty Cube! 🙂
