Tip: Papers I usually buy on Ebay or Origami Shop. Japanese books I tend to buy from CDJapan.

To complete the Origami Square Star Box, you will need 1 square sheet of paper. You can fold the Origami box from thin Origami paper (like in the tutorial video below), card stock or just plain copy paper. If you need to have a more sturdy Origami box, then use card stock. Just remember, the thicker the paper, the less easy it is to fold…

The Origami Square Star Box starts off with the Preliminary Base fold. The steps all together are quite easy to remember – making a fun Origami box to fold. If you use medium size Origami paper (15 cm x 15 cm / 6 in x 6 in), your finished Square Star Box will measure about 13 cm x 13 cm / 5.1 in x 5.1 in (Flap to Flap) or 6 cm x 6 cm / 2.4 in x 2.4 in (Box itself). Bigger size Origami paper (20 cm x 20 cm / 7.9 in x 7.9 in) results in an Origami Square Star Box Flap to Flap: 17.8 cm x 17.8 cm / 7 in x 7 in or Box itself: 8.5 cm x 8.5 cm / 3.3 in x 3.3 in.

For models like this one, I like to use Kami paper, but if I want more variety, I will use Duo paper!
